The BlackBerry Storm was released today in the States, and I made a quick pitstop at the local Verizon store to give it a test drive.
Some first impressions:
1. I was ready to not like the clickable touch screen, but I actually thought it was very nice, and improved my typing accuracy.
2. When the keyboard is in portrait mode, you get Rim's suretype keyboard, which I personally don't like. Turning it to landscape mode gives you a traditional qwerty keyboard, but limited screen space.
3. The picture is very sharp and clear. It's clearly much snazzier than anything I've seen (483 x 360 resolution in case you were wondering).
4. I browsed a few sites, including my own, and the browser was quite speedy. Still not close to Safari's browser on the iPhone.
5. I took a quick picture in the store, and it very nice. You could zoom in by just dragging your finger over the screen. It also was auto-focus with 3.2MP w/ a flash.
Snap judgment: Good phone on a great network. That being said, if the iPhone was available on Verizon's network, I would probably pick the iPhone over the Blackberry.
